London Mozart Players launch new season
Croydon’s renowned chamber orchestra, The London Mozart Players, launch their new 2017/18 season this Saturday (21 October).
The show, at St John the Evangelist church in South Norwood marks the start of a series of performances that will showcase world-class artists as well as providing a platform for fresh new talent.
The LMP also aim to make classical music accessible to everyone, with shows designed to be enjoyed by the whole family.
The first concert of the series celebrates new ties with the Hungarian Armel Opera Festival and the Virtuózok competition, which champions young classical talent and seeks performance opportunities for their finalists.
Eszter Holozsai will be the first soloist from the competition to join the LMP on stage in what is hoped will become an annual tradition.
The evening promises a beautiful programme of autumnal favourites, including a string orchestra arrangement of Schubert’s famed ‘Death and the Maiden’ String Quartet, and featuring the voices of St Christopher’s Community Choir in a performance of Mozart’s Ave Verum.
